I am indeed delighted to be here at the beautiful city of Chandigarh during the launch of the First School of Excellence under the aegis of Punjab Technical University. I recall that the Government of Punjab had announced a grant of Rs.6 crores to enable the PTU to start six new schools of excellence. I am glad that the first one in this series is the School of Total Quality Management and Entrepreneurship which is now being established in collaboration with the Gian Jyoti Trust through the formation of PTU's Gian Jyoti School of Entrepreneurship and TQM Society.

I am indeed delighted to be with you in this beautiful environment. I greet the Officers, JCOs, other ranks and non-combatants of the 86 Armoured Regiment. I commend all ranks for the yeoman service rendered by them while safeguarding the security of our nation. I am aware that this is a very challenging and daunting task.

I realize it is very important to recognize outstanding employees, employers, placement officers, individuals, institutions and creative disabled persons from different walks of life. I am delighted to participate in the international summit ?Towards a culture of harmony and peace? organised by a Mini Parliament of influential thinkers in the field of religion. The Inter-faith Movement is indeed a joyful coming together of all religions to promote harmony and spearhead efforts of religious communities for peace and harmony in our social and personal lives. In the midst of this enlightened gathering, I was thinking what I could share with you and hence selected the topic: The Joy of Human Life.
