Recently, I happened to see the prize winning paintings of the children who participated in the Shankar's International Painting Competition. I am very happy to be here in the Mizoram Legislative Assembly which is an institution that gives vision to the state, evolves the legal frame-work for the policies and programmes of the state and gives shape to the aspirations of the people of this state, 50% of whom live in rural areas.

Nobility in Mind:Righteousness

When I touch the commemorative coins of 100 Rupees, 50 Rupees and 1 Rupee, I reminded of a unique experience, which I had few years back that reveals how a single leader can inspire a large population. I happened to meet, in Delhi, the grand-daughter of Mahatma Gandhiji, Mrs Sumitra Kulkarni. She narrated to me an incident about her grandfather, which she personally witnessed.
