I am very happy to dedicate the second launch pad for launching operational PSLV. Last time when I came and yesterday when I visited the second launch pad there is a big difference. It is not just a launch pad, it is a launch complex which is the culmination of the marvels of technology and lot of hard work by the teams of Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Indian Space Research Organisation, industries and academic partners. My congratulations.

Dear members of Car Nicobar, I am happy to be with you all today. I am aware that all of you had passed through a very difficult period after the occurrence of Tsunami in this region on the 26th December 2004. All of you had collectively combated the situation and the island now is on the recovery path. I have been monitoring the progress of the immediate relief operations from the various officials who have been visiting the Island and through the daily report being submitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

I am indeed delighted to be with you in this beautiful environment. My greetings to all Officers, Warrant Officers and Airmen of Air Force Station, Car Nicobar. I have been closely monitoring the status of this Air Force Station during the Tsunami devastation on 26th Dec.2004. I was shocked to know that valuable lives of 116 officers, men, support employees and families posted in this station were lost due to the fury of the nature. I pray to the Almighty to give strength to bear the loss to those who lost their kith and kin during this devastation.
