The King of Bhutan, H.M. Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck met the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on December 22, 2009. They discussed a range of issues of bilateral cooperation including cooperation in sectors like hydro power. The President warmly recalled her visit to Bhutan for the formal Coronation of the King on the 6th of November 2008 and deeply appreciated that the King’s first visit after his Coronation was to India. The President and the King of Bhutan reaffirmed the very warm and special ties between the two countries. The President later hosted a Banquet in honour of the King.
