The President Meets Neo-Literate Women and Voluntary Teachers
The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil met a group of one hundred neo-literate women and voluntary teachers from 26 states and Union Territories at Rashtrapati Bhavan on September 22, 2009. The Minister of Human Resource Development, Shri Kapil Sibal was also present at the function. The President said she was happy to see the enthusiasm with which the women had taken-up the desire to learn to read and write. She also had a word of praise for the voluntary teachers.
