The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil met a goup of
women from Eastern Ladakh from Women's Empowerment Centres and Adult
Literacy Centres. This group of 21 women were in New Delhi on
September 19, 2008 under the Indian Army's Operation Sadbhavana. Under
this Operation, persons from remote border regions in the country are
given an experience of the rest of the country's history, heritage and
technological progress.
