The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil joined invitees in the Christmas Carols Programme at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on December 17, 2009. The Programme featured Carol singing by the Shillong Chamber Choir, Meghalaya, the Centenary Methodist Church, Delhi, Zowe Madrigal, Nagaland, St. Thomas Mar Thoma Syrian Church Choir, Delhi, Golden Jubilee Choir, Delhi, Mizo Minstrels Choir, Mizoram, Jesus and Mary College Choir, Delhi and Paranjoti Academy Chorus, Mumbai. The Christmas Message was delivered by the Most Rev. Vincent Concessao, the Archibishop of Delhi. Amongst others who attended the function, were Smt. Gursharan Kaur, the wife of the Prime Minister of India and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Smt. Meira Kumar.
