The Indian Foreign Service Probationers of the 2007 Batch called-on the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on July 9, 2009. After having undergone comprehensive training over the past two years, the Probationers will soon be posted to various Indian Missions abroad for their language training. Speaking to them the President said they would be playing a crucial role during their careers in India's national growth and security. She said that in a globalised world developments in one country impact those in other nations. In this context she mentioned the global financial crisis and the recent spread of swine flu. The President urged the Probationers to always keep in mind India's heritage and civilizational values in their work during the course of their careers.
