The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil presided over
the 46th Convocation Ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology,
Bombay at Mumbai on August 8, 2008. A Doctorate Honoris Causa was
awarded to Shri Ratan Tata on this occasion. The Governor of
Maharashtra, Shri S.C. Jamir and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra,
Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh were also present.
