The President, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has condoled the loss of lives and damage to property in the earthquake which struck Peru this week.
Smt. Pratibha Patil, in her condolence message to the President of Peru, Mr. Alan Garcia, has said, "It is with shock and sadness that we received the news of the earthquake in which many precious lives have been lost and properties and infrastructure damaged. I wish to take the opportunity to express to the bereaved families, the Government and the people of Peru our deepest sympathies and solidarity."
